Each year the Rendezvous in the Park team partners with University of Idaho's Art + Design students to develop the theme and artwork for our annual posters and buttons. This year's class is being taught by Assistant Professor Megan Davis, emphasizing in graphic design in both teaching and practice. She is passionate about the roles of art and design as key players in social change and she seeks to use design as an avenue of visual storytelling as well as an active agent. Davis has earned her Master of Fine Arts with an emphasis in graphic design, worked professionally as a designer in Seattle for 5 years, and has volunteered in a variety of design positions ranging from nonprofits in Colorado to Kenya. In her continued freelance work and studio practice, she engages commercial clients, artistic works, community practice, and nonprofit initiatives.

Art 322 Project Description | Rendezvous in the Park
Engaging with community client, Rendezvous in the Park, students will continue building on industry-standard design skills while learning to navigate real-world client relationships and workflows. Through this partnership, students will learn about designing in a community context, gain research and ideation strategies, explore alternate solutions with client and audience, practice professional presentation, and ultimately develop an event campaign system and production-ready deliverables. The final, juried proposal will be utilized in the upcoming Rendezvous in the Park Music and Arts Festival.
